At this time of the year we think of our loved ones and friends who have made this past year rememberable for us. We also think of those people who, for one reason or the other, seem to have slipped from being a part of our lives this past year. As we have these thoughts, we also wonder how could this year have come and gone so quickly ....

Christmas time reminds me that God makes every effort to keep in touch with us. The arrival of Jesus Christ as an infant in barren Bethlehem stall, was God's most dramatic act of reaching out to us.

This Christmas season, may we take the time to rethink of the notion of "finding God" and may we come to the wonderful place of seeing and understanding, maybe for the first time, that God at Christmas came SEEKING US. May such a thought as this cause us not to relish in the glitz of Christmas and miss His incarnation. May we be careful not to focus so much attention on the parties and presents, the decorations and the allure of the creations of man, but instead think of Jesus Christ who bore the very imprint of God, and carried God's message of love and hope for all mankind.

Jim and I wish you and yours a wonderful and blessed Christmas. Our Christmas dinner prayer -- as we hope yours will, too -- will include those families who have lost loved ones since their last Christmas. May the peace and majesty of Christ's birth be ever present in our thoughts, and may your Christmas be one of the most memorable ones you have experienced.

"And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tiding of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord." .... "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." --Luke 2:10-12; 14
