Tomorrow, MEMORIAL DAY, most of us will take time to remember those who gave their lives for our earthly freedom -- and, to hopefully worship the One who died and rose again to ensure our eternal freedom.

Memorial Day challenges each of us to live our lives in a way to honor the life sacrifices made by members of our military. We value our freedom because of the heavy price people have paid to secure it. May God help each of us not to treat carelessly and casually the holiday that lies before us. May we choose to take some part of the weekend to, with a bowed head and a thankful heart, express our heartfelt and sincere gratitude for those who truly loved mercy and freedom more than life!

To the family members of those who paid the ultimate price for our national freedom, we should be ever grateful for the bravery, the courage, and the sacrifice that their loved one(s) gave for the cause of our national freedom.

It seems that our town has had more than that its share of military funerals lately. The week before last, Jim and I went to three (3) funerals within one week honoring our brave soldiers who gave their all to protect our freedom. It is not something that we look forward to doing, but we feel it is the very least we could do to honor their sacrifice and hopefully, in some tiny way, our presence can let the family members know that there are people out there who do appreciate what their loved one gave for our freedom.
