HERB BRIDGES' SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
I doubt that you don't already know who Herb Bridges is, but just in case .... Mr. Bridges is the author of six books on the subject of Gone With the Wind and has presented lectures and exhibits throughout the United States. His collection of GWTW memorabilia has been on exhibit in Canada, France, and two massive exhibits in Japan in the 1990's. The collection is on permanent exhibit at the Road to Tara Museum in Jonesboro, Georgia.
Herb presents a Power Point presentation that will chronicle the early life of Margaret Mitchell in Atlanta, and then explore the writing of her epic novel, GONE WITH THE WIND. The trials and tribulations of a first-time best-selling author will be explained with further details of having the book published on June 30, 1936 (actual First Edition was printed in May, 1936), and subsequently published in 42 countries throughout the world.
Margaret Mitchell attended the film premiere in Atlanta on December 15, 1939. The book had a phenomenal effort on Margaret Mitchell's life until her death at the age of 48 years old in 1949.
