During the "casualty lists" scenes, Selznick's innovation in which actress Margaret Seddon as "Grandma Tarleton" reads about the death of the two twins, was elminated from the movie. After all, Margaret Mitchell had not even created a "Grandma Tarleton". There were many of such "original" scenes that did not conform to the novel and were discarded from the final production.
