After being in contact with the high bidder for the Scarlett green drapery dress hat, she has consented to allow me to let you know the hat will be placed in a museum for all the world to enjoy!! What wonderful news for us collectors!
After asking permission to make the posting on this board, the new owner writes:
"Of course you may tell your cutomers. My husband and I are long time collectors of Civil War artifacts and Victorian costumes (originals). The TEXAS MUSEUM OF CIVIL WAR HISTORY AND VICTORIAN COSTUMES (Ft. Worth, Texas area) will mainly house original items. The only appropriate Hollywood display would seem to be from GWTW. The collection is world class. I am not collecting GWTW. I would just like a few pieces to make a small display."
So, instead in being locked up in someone's personal collection, this wonderful item will be on display in approximately 2 years. I'll let you know when, just as soon as I know.
