I received this email today regarding Hattie McDaniel and I thought I would pass it on:

I was browsing the page that you have on "How Much Do You Know About Hattie McDaniel". One question you may want to include is "What International sorority is Hattie McDaniel a member of?" I have the esteemed pleasure of telling you that Soror McDaniel is my sister. She is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., founded in 1922 at Butler University in Indianapolis. Although she is no longer with us, Soror McDaniel was initiated into what we call the Omega Rho chapter (a chapter for all deceased sorority sisters so that their legacy will live on forever). I thought that you may find this little tidbit interesting. Thank you for your time.
