Just a reminder for the upcoming Civil War and Gone With the Wind Exhibit to be held at The History Center in downtown Orlando, Florida. The "Special Event" is on Thursday, February 1st. The fee for the event is $20.00 per person. There will be an autograph session with ANN RUTHERFORD (Carreen O'Hara) and MICKEY KUHN (Beau Wilkes) -- each guest will be given a photo of both Ann and Mickey to have autographed.

The autograph session will be from 4:00 to 5:30pm. The Questions/Answer period, conducted by Dr. Chris Sullivan, will be from 6:30 to 7:30pm. If you are unable to make the 4:00-5:30pm autograph signing period, Ann and Mickey will also be available for autographs after 7:30pm for those who did not get their autographs earlier.

The following information is copied from The History Center's web site:

Gone With the Wind opens on February 1, Clark Gable's birthday, with a special event featuring members of the original cast: Ann Rutherford, Scarlett's sister Carreen, and Mickey Kuhn, who played Beau Wilkes. The exhibition explores the influence of both Margaret Mitchell's novel and the film through documents and objects on loan from the Marietta Gone With the Wind Movie Museum in Georgia and Kent State University Museum in Ohio. Among the artifacts are Vivien Leigh's contract to play Scarlett; original artwork of the stars, including a portrait of Scarlett and Rhett done by famed New York Times artist Al Hirschfeld with an artist's proof signed by him; and the black mourning bonnet worn by Olivia de Havilland as Melanie. Also sure to be popular with visitors are set paintings, original theater programs, and original scripts from the movie.

Among the costumes on exhibit are four replica Scarlett O'Hara gowns (the originals are too fragile to be displayed), including the green velveteen dress Scarlett made from curtains, her ivory French silk satin wedding dress, and a burgundy French silk velvet ball gown from the David O. Selznick Collection at the Harry Ransom Center at The University of Texas at Austin, as well as the Bengaline honeymoon outfit from private collector Russell Taylor. On March 15, 2007, a Civil War Fashion Show fills the runway at The History Center with the most stylish Civil War era fashions from elegant formal wear to seldom-seen unmentionables.

Special editions of Gone With the Wind on display include a leather-bound Danish copy inscribed by Margaret Mitchell to the Danish publisher. Also on display is an invitation to Mitchell's funeral and a thank you card from the family. Tragically, Mitchell was struck by a vehicle crossing Peachtree Street in 1949 and died five days later; a laminated front page from the Atlanta paper the day of her death is also included.
