A rainy day in Orlando (and horrible tornados late last night) did not dampen the spirits of the GWTW fans who attended this special afternoon/evening at The History Center! The event was held as the Grand Opening day for the Civil War and Gone With the Wind Exhibits. It was great to see several customers/friends of Gone With the Wind Memories and get to spent a few hours with them.

As usual, Ann Rutherford (Carreen O'Hara) was her vibrant self, just full of behind-the-scenes stories relative to her movie career and of course, especially, Gone With the Wind.

Mickey Kuhn (Beau Wilkes, Melanie's son) was his jovial, wonderful self during all interaction with the fans. Both he and Ann had a long day with several-back-to-back interviews with the media, but they showed no signs of fatigue when visiting with the fans!!

Unfortunately, for you (and me!), photography of any kind was prohibited in the museum exhibit, so I do not have any photos to share with you. Dr. Chris Sullivan, loaned some of his items with the cooperation of the Marietta Museum, "Scarlett on the Square" to be included in the exhibit. Costumes on display were reproductions of Scarlett's green drapery dress, ivory French silk satin wedding dress, and the burgundy silk velvet ball gown from the University of Texas, plus Russ Taylor's honeymoon outfit. We all wondered -- again -- how could Vivien Leigh be so petite!!

As can be seen in the above flyer, the exhibits will continue through April 15th. If you are in the area, why not try to include The History Center in your plans?!?
