If you are anywhere around the Detroit/Rochester area, MICKEY KUHN (Beau Wilkes, son of Ashley & Melanie at age 7) will be the special guest of the MEADOW BROOK THEATRE March 29-30, during their performance of MOONLIGHT AND MAGNOLIAS.
The play, Moonlight and Magnolias, is billed as "The week the cameras stopped rolling on the set of Gone with the Wind." There are plenty of comments about the play on the Internet; just punch in the name and you can read the reviews across the country. Unfortunately for me, when I saw the play in Atlanta a couple of years ago, I must have missed the "adult language" comments in the reviews, because I was not prepared (nor did I enjoy) those parts of the play.
The Meadow Brook Theatre is located on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan about 30 miles north of downtown Detroit. If you'd like to join Mickey and the cast, Oakland University of about 45 miles from the Detroit Metro Airport. If you are driving, they are letting you know that I-75 is closed going through downtown Detroit, so you are advised to take I-275 North to I-696 East to I-75 North for the last 20 miles to Rochester.
MICKEY'S TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:
SATURDAY, MARCH 29th - 10:00 am Gone With the Wind Forum; talk, Q&A, autographs, and a GWTW memorabilia display.
2:00pm, Moonlight and Magnolias; Mickey will be available for autographs before the play and during intermission, and there will be a GWTW lobby display.
8:00pm, Moonlight and Magnolias; Mickey will be available for autographs before the play and during intermission, and there will be a GWTW lobby display.
SUNDAY, MARCH 30th:
2:00pm, Moonlight and Magnolias; Mickey will be available for autographs before the play and during intermission, and there will be a GWTW lobby display. A post-performance "Talk Back" featuring Mickey is also scheduled, along with the GWTW lobby display.
