The GWTW Memories group also visited the "Gone With the Wind Remembered" exhibit at Gadsden, Alabama. What a wonderful experience! The exhibit, on display from July 2nd through November 4th, contains many pieces from the private collection of Herb Bridges. George Terrell, GWTW enthusiast and professor from Gadsden, also included some of his collection in the exhibit. The Center for Cultural Arts in historic downtown Gadsden has had wonderful attendance and when we arrived there, we knew immediately 'why'!
This is the largest exhibit Herb Bridges has had in the United States (his 10-city-tour in Japan in 1996 was a little larger) and they did a wonderful job displaying it. George Terrell was responsibile for the setup of the exhibit and he did an absolutely wonderful job! I could write a book about the exhibit, but I still would not be able to tell all it contained. You'll just have to see it for yourself.
If you are interested in further information, please call (256) 543-ARTS. Admission is only $3.00, but you will come out saying you would have paid ten times that price to see the exhibit!!
