The above photo shows MICKEY KUHN (Beau Wilkes at age 7), ANN RUTHERFORD (Carreen O'Hara), PATRICK CURTIS (Beau Wilkes after the War), John Wiley (Editor, The Scarlett Letter) and CAMMIE KING CONLON (Bonnie Blue Butler) enjoying a nice lunch over the weekend before their appearance at The Motion Picture Arts and Sciences screening of Gone With the Wind on Monday, May 18th. The event entitled, "Hollywood’s Greatest Year: The Best Picture Nominees of 1939" honored GWTW on this night and will also honor the other nominees on their special night.
By all accounts, the event was wonderful. ANN, CAMMIE, MICKEY and PATRICK were treated very well, and the organization of the event was flawless. They were seated on the stage, before the start of the sold-out screening, and answered some questions from Randy Haberkamp of the Academy.
THEN, as a GREAT, WONDERFUL surprise to all of them, Randy introduced a recorded "Hello" and tribute from none other than OLIVIA DE HAVILLAND, our sweet Melanie, which was the creme de la creme of the evening. And from what we hear from our GWTW celebs, she, again, couldn't have been more charming!
