HE GAVE US THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL... THE GIFT OF HIS SON.
Jim and I would like to wish each of you a Merry Christmas and a blessed and profitable New Year. We are blessed by those of you who we have become to know as friends as a result of your interest in Gone With the Wind.
As we stand at the threshold of another Christmas Season, may we embrace anew the marvelous and exceeding grace of God. This time of the year is when we are thinking about gift giving and I wanted to remind us all of the real meaning of a GIFT.
This is what Wikipedia says about the word GIFT --
"A gift or a present is the transfer of something, without the need for compensation that is involved in trade. A gift is a voluntary act which does not require anything in return ... a gift is meant to be free. By extension, the term gift can refer to anything that makes the other happier or less sad, especially as a favor ... including forgiveness and kindness."
Many of us have experienced personal disappointments during this past year, some with financial difficulties, loss of jobs, etc. Others with health issues, and others with issues of the heart, etc. But the gift of our Saviour Jesus Christ has helped us get through it all as we come closer to this Christmas season.
While contemplating the value and assessing the worth of gifts given and received this Christmas season, may we remember and honor the ultimate gift of God's love -- His one and only Son -- THE GREATEST GIFT EVER TO MAN --- JESUS CHRIST, OUR SAVIOUR!
