During this busy and hurried season let us not forgot those who will no longer be at family Christmas reunions. Hundreds of thousands of lives have been affected by the loss of loved ones who gave the ultimate sacrifice that allows us to enjoy our holidays in a land where freedom still exists.

"Rest easy, sleep well our brothers.
Know the line has held, your job is done.
Rest easy, sleep well.
Others have taken up where you fell, the line has held.
Peace, peace, and farewell... "

According to the information I have received:
Readers may be interested to know that these wreaths -- some 5,000 -- are donated by the Worcester Wreath Co. of Harrington, Maine. The owner, Merrill Worcester, not only provides the wreaths, but covers the trucking expense as well. He's done this since 1992.

Also, most years, groups of Maine school children combine an educational trip to DC with this event to help out. Making this even more remarkable is the fact that Harrington is in one of the poorest parts of the state.

Some time during Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, why not make a promise to yourself to remember this photo in your mind, and whisper a prayer in your heart for the families whose lives have been changed forever ...
