Scarlett and Rhett had a special visitor today, Officer "Apache". Apache, his police badge around his neck, came by for some special attention from this dog lover and I was tickled to give it to him!
One of Plant City's finest, Officier Dennis Powlaski, makes the rounds with his partner, Apache. Apache is a B-I-G Labrador Retriever who uses his keen nose and senses to catch those bad drug dealers, but about sniffed me to death smelling my three poodles!! Apache could make mince meat out my lap dogs, but he kept my full attention with his magnificent display of canine beauty.
When asked if Apache really enjoyed going after those bad guys, Dennis told me Apache really prefers catching birds. Apache was Dennis' personal dog, but was easily trained as a drug officer and has won metals for his work with the DEA. What a great deal -- getting to take your "best friend" to work with you each day!!
